Tom Allen has a excellent track record of helping me find mortgages over the past 6 years: a couple of residential mortgages, a portfolio of several buy-to-let properties, and to top it off, a commercial loan for a property management company. Three key attributes mark Tom out as an outstanding mortgage broker. First, he is proactive and efficient. He anticipated what would be needed by the banks and worked with me to gather relevant information and documents ahead of time, resulting in minimal questions during the application process. He could retrieve my P60 in the past 3 years faster than I can. Second, he is detail-oriented and source from the entire market with diligence. On one occasion, he presented a spectrum of lenders ranging from a state bank of an Asian country, a private bank headquartered in another continent, to a building society of a market town, each with its own attributes to select from. Third, which i value most, is that Tom plays fair. When he couldn’t beat my own bank with which I had a premier account, he advised me so. When he overlooked an obscure point in the lender’s terms, he reduced his fee to bridge the gap and made the deal happen. I prize competition, and Tom had beaten other brokers I used.
